OEM Companies such as HP, Dell, and Gateway now brand the start menu of XP to show a custom button that does some function such as go to their website, run a support app, etc. Now you can create your own as well!
There is a LOT of information that has to be written to the registry so it would probably be easiest for you to copy and paste the following to a text file and then save it as Brand.reg after you are done editing it to fit your needs. Once it is save double click or right click and select merge. Logout/in to see changes.
The area's you need to tweak (4) are in bold here. Make sure you enter the ENTIRE path to your icon file and if you are launching an application use the entire path, for a website make sure to include "http://" And last, yes, "Text For Button" is in there twice, make sure it has the same value in both places.
