Navigate the the location below in your registry and
make the corresponding change.
Create or edit the string value named "NameSrvQueryCount" and set it to the number of query retries, the default is 3.
Create or edit the existing DWORD value (string value for Windows 98) named
"NameSrvQueryTimeout" and set it to the number of milliseconds to wait before timing out a name server query, the default is 750.
Restart Windows.
