Navigate the the location below in your registry and make the corresponding change.

Create or edit the existing DWORD value (string value for Windows 98) named "LmhostsTimeout" and set it to the timeout period in milliseconds, the minimum is 1000 (1 second). 

Restart Windows.

Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data:Time in milliseconds (Default = 10,000)
