Open config.sys with notepad
Find out where "emm386.exe" is located on your computer. By default it should be c:\windows\emm386.exe.
In the beginning of config.sys add
"device=c:\windows\emm386.exe NOEMS" unless emm386.exe was found
elsewhere.
Requires reboot.
