First of all make sure that you are logged on as an administrator and actually installing the printer on the local machine instead of just connecting to it and printing. If you are properly installing it my first notion would be that you are experiencing problems from the upgrade. First of all, I never recommend doing an upgrade on your OS, Second of all I would definetly not upgrade to an OS with a different kernel. For instance, upgrade Win95 to Win98, or NT 4.0 to 2000, or 2000 to XP but never upgrade any win9X machine to 2000/XP which uses a different kernel. If you are not sure about how you are installing the printer, let me know the steps you are using and I'll let you know if there is anything you need to change.
