NCP stands for NetWare Core Protocol. NCP is actually a set of protocols that enables a NetWare server to accept and respond to requests for various network services, including creating a network connection, manipulating files and directories on the network, and printing documents to network printers. Netware will also encapsulate NCP calls in TCP/IP so that older IPX/SPX applications will still work in a pure IP environment.
